I need help ID this Wards Western Field .22 single shot bolt action.

My grandpa gave it to me. He bought it new back in 1936. It has no serial number or model number on it.

Attached are some photos that may help:

Mossberg, I believe. Had one very close to that one that my stepfather bought MANY years ago, nifty accurate rifle. Can't remember the model number.

WesternField was the house brand name for their guns and could be either the Mossberg 10 or Stevens 52B. Also sold to Sears and Coast to Coast Hardware.

Here is mine: I call mine a Savage although Stevens and Savage were the same company back then and it could have been made under either name. Here is mine made in 1964 for Coast to Coast, differences are slight and it still shoots better than I can.

I have something similar that I got when my Father-In-Law passed away. It's a Savage lever action single shot. It was marketed through True Value Hardware stores up through the '70s, I believe. It was kind of neat doing research on it and finding out its history - like solving a family mystery, of sorts. Have fun with it!

Thanks guys. I was really hoping someone would be able to shed some light on what model number this might be.

From what I can find so far the stock is different from most other Western Field rifles I have seen. Not sure if my grandpa replaced the stock at some point or not.

He bought this rifle in 1936 after he caught a mink and a few other animals and sold the furs. Fun little story that he told me. I get a little more each time he tells stories...old men seem to do this.
