Warbirdlover is a TOP NOTCH GUY!! (with Ruger MkII pics)

I just wanted to let everyone here on the forum what a gentleman and really great guy Warbirdlover, ( Gerald L. ) is.
A week or two earlier, he had posted some pics of his newly converted Ruger MkII with the old boat paddle synthetic stock over to a Boyd's laminate stock and I fell in love with the way his rifle looked. So much so that I ordered me one from Boyd's two days later.:D
I emailed Warbirdlover with question after question about his new toy and he was more than happy to reply to me with answers to all my questions. He also gave me a great deal on a super nice Mueller 4x16x50 scope that is now attached to my Ruger!!!!
I finally got the scope mounted today on my rifle and it is bore sighted, it is a MkII in 270 caliber ,stainless action and barrel with a little work done to the stock trigger ( about 2 .75 lbs of pull to release ). I just hope it shoots as good as it did with the original stock. If not, I'll see about glassbedding it first and go from there. With the new stock the barrel is now free floated all the way up to about 3 inches or so from where it screws into the action. The previous stock was tighter as I could not slip a dollar bill into the forearm with it.
For some reason the pics I just took shows that the Boyd's stock appears to have some brown color in it but thats not the case at all. It is the pepper laminate color ( some back and grey mixed) and the Boyd's Classic type stock with the #2 laser checkering added. To me it reallly dresses this rifle up and I could not be happier.
THANKS WARBIRDLOVER!!! U DA MAN!!!!
John
And oh yeah,....... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! LOL

Lookin good John!! I like that checkering on yours better then the one I picked out. Really "classic". I can see it better with these larger pics. And that scope looks mighty nice on there also. Hope it shoots as good as mine does. :D (And that brown color comes from the camera flash).

John,

Didn't WBL build you a new hunting blind/food stand too?

Discern

Nope. Just sent him the "plans"....
*********************************************
Discern, I was waiting on warbird to add a drive up window to his and then try to negotiate a franchise deal .:D
Just think about it,...shoot your deer and eat a hot tasty tenerloin bisquit all in the same shooting house!
Uh..., you want fries with that?

I will try reposting.

John has a really nice looking rifle.

I also think WBL should paint a deer on his new blind showing the anatomy of the deer and labeling all the organs and cuts of meat. HOWEVER, that could be bad if you have an uninvited hunter come onto the property. Maybe WBL could paint the deer in blaze orange :D

Sure sounds like a good reason to stay inside with a big coffee mug to me :)
Wait until the weather gets better and then go at it Jerr.

Found out they only got 4" up north so might still be able to get it done in a week. If they got 8" up there we couldn't get back to my stand until spring. When the ticks are out and the weeds are up.

That is a really fine looking rifle, can't wait to hear how it shoots.

Warbirdlover seems to always have good answers, uses correct grammar, and never puts anyone down. Nice job.

(Now that I buttered you up a little got anymore scope deals I should know about :D)
