Wanna get a c&b revolver

Hey y'all
Been tossin the thought around and want something to plink around with. So for a first cap and ball revolver I was thinkin about getting one of them Uberti remmington new armys in the millenium model. They got good reviews and its an uberti so i dont think i can go to far wrong an they are less than $300. So what do you folks think.

Thanks

The Millenium was a fine base model at a reduced price, but I thought that it was discontinued by Uberti. If one of them now costs as much as $300 due to it being discontinued, then why not buy the Pietta target model with adjustable sights that's on sale at Cabela's right now for $199. Cabela's also has a no questions asked return policy which is a great option to be provided with any brand that one chooses to buy.

Good advice. The Remington is an excellent starter gun; shoots very well, reliable and is not difficult to maintain. And the Cabela's deal makes the price well worthwhile.

Thanks, i was just lookin at dixie gun works and the millenium caught my eye but the adjustable sights are deffinatly better, i plan on shootin it a fair bit.

Why would he want to buy your unknown revolver for $75.00 more than the Cabelas gun with an ironclad warranty. It does no good for the sport to take advantage of a newbe. You should be ashamed of yourself. This is exactly why the sport is having trouble attracting new participants. I have one of the Cabelas 1858 Remingtons that I bought almost 3 years ago. I could not see why your gun is worth almost double what I paid for mine. i

Normally I try to ,keep my mouth shut but this gives me an interesting idea. I should probanly jump on all the cheap revolvers (mainly brass frames), buy them and then offer them newbies looking for guns at the price I have in them plus 10%. I would at least want to break even.

The revolver that Flatheadsal is selling in not the same as the Cabela's 1858 .44 target. Flathead has a 1858 .36 Navy Beals with adjustable sights. Pietta currently makes that model with fixed sights. The Possibles Shop lists it at $295.

Remember that some of the older Italian revolvers have become somewhat collectible. The asking price for that forty year old unfired revolver is not out of line, IMHO.

There's nothin' wrong with a price of $275 for that .36 Rem Navy with adjustable sites and a Well made one at that...adjustable site to the one that would like them would cost more than $75 alone let alone shipping...hell just because someone don't wanna pay a certain price for not playing the "is the Cabela's gun good or bad" don't make it a bad price. I paid that + for mine w/o sights and used on a bid, but it was a Hawes Co. of in L.A. and I wanted it so it was worth what ever I wanted to pay...
If you don't want it why bad mouth a guy about his gun? Now that ain't right!(open statement directed to anyone)

Go to post #52 in the thread titled, "FS: 4 Black Powder Pistols" in the 'Buy, Sell and Trade Black Powder Firearms and Accessories' subforum. It'll tell you all you need to know about SamStafford and his knowledge of black powder firearms and their value.

Then take the same action as many did regarding his mentor just a couple of weeks ago.

I am not sure the cabelas one you are looking at is made my uberti. I will look again.

Why do you think it is uberti? help me find that detail please.

I am not sure but i think cabelas just deals with peitte
but i could be wrong,? anyway if you want a first time
smoke pole you can not go wrong with a 58 its a good
leaning gun, and i would get my first time gun from cabelas
you can not go wrong, and if you do not like it at least
you can sent it back, imho, thats the way i would go.
Good luck.:D

thanks madcrate and smokin', I know my Rem is worth that and I'm certainly not trying to take advantage of anyone, MAYBE YOUR RIGHT GAUCHO MAYBE YOU SHOULD MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, we're all big boys here and certainly don't need your so caleed watchful eye, flathead

Full size revolvers sold by Cabela's are Pietta. I'm not sure about now but I know the pocket pistols they sold used to be Uberti.
