Walther = S&W?

Good Guy

I hit the link for the Walther site and they listed their address as;

Walther-USA
2100 Roosevelt Avenue
Springfield, MA 01102-2208

Isn't this S&W's address also? I knew of an earlier joint venture between the two but I hadn't heard of them being in bed together currently.

Is it time to boycott Walther as well? Am I missing something?

Yes, S&W is now Walther's US distributor.

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.

And Walther USA's new president was (is?) a Smith employee.

Service on Walthers will be carried out by *&*; sales will be handled by *&*; advertising, etc.

Darn Darn Darn Darn

Used to have pretty good relationship with Walther when usin their ISU stuff. Time to see if still have contact. Not good for them or us methinketh.

So it stands to reason that Walther sales are subject to the same traitorous agreement as S&W named guns. Everyone says S&W must die, but nobody is talking about Walther being in cahoots with them and boycotting Walther as well. Strange?

S&W (and Walther?) must die!

They're not the only US distributor. Try this link: http://www.waltherusa.net/index.html

And here's the official word from the home office:
quote:
Walther USA LLC is a stand-alone company; run separately from Smith & Wesson, and is not bound by the terms and conditions of the Smith & Wesson agreement of March 17, 2000.

Yeah right!!! You think that Ol' Janet is just going to roll over and play dead on this? The ATF will say that any and all divisions of, or PARTNERS with Smith and Wesson will be held to the same agreement as the original party.

On the bright side, it means another Government lawsuit that Slick and Willy, and now Walther by extension, will have to contend with. :D Those who stand with Satan, will fall with Satan!!

This is such outright reactionary bull****... Get a life and go on fellas. You want to put the largest manufacturer of US weapons out of business because they chose not to spend tens of millions of dollars in frivolous lawsuits? And then you want to put everyone else out of business that does business with them?

Are you the same people that want Ruger to close because Billy caved and said cap limits were okay?

Who's next on your hit list?

Buy the weapon if it's quality made and show your outrage at the ballot box...

or better yet, Shakespeare said it best about four hundred years ago, "First let's kill all the lawyers". Blame the folks who put S&W in the position that they were in.

Enough already. They're not gonna 'un-sign' their agreement. Go on with your lives.

Thank you Gremlin. I have been waiting to hear that for a while. Some people seem to think that the slippery slope always takes effect. Maybe it will and S$W will lead the way to doom the other manufacturers but not likely. Some people just want to stand in on the angry mob.

Gremlin,

Read the stipulations of the Walther-HUD agreement before spewing your ignorance. If you want to contribute to losing your RKBA by buying S&W products go ahead. You might as well send some money to HCI while you're at it. You won't find many friends here, however.

Well said Tecolote. Current S&W management is NO friend of the 2nd Ammendment. Actually, they are the enemy at this point in time.

No SW defender has ever answered the question why no other manufacturer found it necessary to sign on. They faced the same suits.

Schulz, having a senior moment year, was stroked by the Clinton administration and thought he would be the savior of the industry.

Let them recant the agreement.

It seems as if it's real easy for all of us to boycott S & W. Its easy because it's passive. We don't have to get off our butts to feel as if we are making some sort of difference. How many of us are out there actively trying to protect our rights? And I mean beyond joining the NRA or other such organizations. I think we all (myself included) could do more than what we have done or are doing now. Will I ever buy another Smith? NO. Do I agree with what they have done? NO. But I do understand that it was a business decision, though it was done prematurely. I personally feel that ANY of the manufacturers would do the same in certain political climates, which may indeed be looming over the horizon (especially if Gore is elected). We must ALL insure that this doesn't happen. For those who choose to buy S & W, so be it. I will not criticize them. We're all brothers/sisters-in-arms, and we've got bigger fish to fry than S & W. Just my thoughts on it all. EWE
