I really appreciate expert opinions.
I am considering to buy a NEW walther ppks. I have three questions.
1- Which is a more Accurate round ; .32 or .380.
2- Which one feeds better; I really want it to be very reliable.
3- Is the german made that much better than the U.S made to justify a $430 difference; why?
Does anybody know of a full test or a torture test on this gun?

If you are buying one because 007 had one...pick a .32 blued steel model.

If you are buying one just because you always wanted one...more power to ya!

If you are buying one to use...pick a .380 stainless...

But my personal opinion...DON'T BUY ONE PERIOD!

I handled a recent production model and I didn't have a trigger scale on me but I bet the DA trigger pull was 20 pounds or more.

I say if you are picking this gun for practical and not sentimental reasons, pick a Kahr K9 or MK9 Elite 98. Just as small...no more expensive...9mm vs. .32 or .380 (and available in .40)...and 10 times the gun!

The Walther PPK is not a bad gun, just that there are some better versions of the 007 moniker.

Try the SIG P232. Very similiar in looks and size, but has superior performance and feel.

I would put them in order:

1st - SIG P230/232 series
2nd - Walther PPK/s
3rd - Walther PPK
4th - Bersa

Don't get the .32 but rather the .380. Better yet, get a Kahr MK9 and get a SMALLER gun with more bite. 9MM vs .380

I second the motion on the SIG P232. I have the SIG and the PPK/S in .380. The Walther is a beautifully made gun, but the DA pull is a major pain, to the point of making an accurate first shot difficult usless you thumb back the hammer.

Also, I have large hands, and the SIG fits my hand better. If you don't hold the Walther right, the slide can nick your hand. The Walther ergonomics are much improved by the Farrar slide-on grip replacement.

The final criteria for buying a gun are what you need it for and how you feel about it. If the PPK turns you on, get one. Another option to consider, depending on what you want/need, is the SIG P239. It's marginally larger than the Walther, and comes in 9mm, .40 S&W, or .357SIG.

If you buy german either caliber will do but if it's american I would buy the 32 hands down the 380's are prone to breakage and failures to feed etc. I owned them all, I still have a 380 german don't shoot it, it's in mint condition. I do own a 32 PPK American and this gun is a dream to shoot and never missed a beatin at least 2500 rounds. My PPK 380 american went back so many times for repair that walther bought the gun back. I have a friend who works on these gun in repair at S&W and he says the 380's are the biggest nightmare, you almost never see the 32's in for repair. If it's american get the 32.
