Hi, I just have a quick question. My dad died this year and left me his PPK-L. I cannot find anything on this model. Is this a rare gun or just an old one? The side of the gun says, Carl Walther Waffenfubrik Ulm/Do
Model PPK-L Cal.7.65mm

Also I have a P-38 that I just found, I know that he got both guns while he was stationed In Germany in 1960s the P38 looks just like the one in your picture, I can find no markings on the gun exp. the number 3564 stamped on the right side and on the front below the barrel. As I said are these just old guns or rare??

thanks for your help!!

I don't have a Walther book handy, but the "L" may be for Lightweight? Does it have an aluminum frame?

You P-38 is a World War 2 gun. Look on the left side of the frame, there will be a war time code on it. Some of them, as I can remember:
Walther-480 and AC
Spreework-cxq and cyq
Mauser-byf and svw

There should also be a year stamped beside the code mark.

Both guns will have some collector value, depending on condition.
