Walther PPK German or American???

Pretty strainghforward. The American one says "Made in USA" in it. It'll say either Springfield, MA if it's a S&W, or Alexandria, VA if it's Interarms. The German one says "Made in Germany". And from a glimplse across the room, if it's stainless, it's American

Really???

Well, I have to tell you that I just checked mine and it was made in Springfield, and it's stainless.

I've put about 2000 rounds through it of every kind of factory ammo, different weights and different manufacturers and I have had NO problems.

It feeds anything and everything... I currently sometimes carry it with Federal Hydroshoks when I can't carry my Colt XSE Commander...

I love the Walther... Excellent gun!!!

It may be a difference in production time, but the German made ones I have seen have no MIM parts where the U.S. (Interarms) made ones do.

Also, FWIW, I had a PPK/s that was always jamming. I "rolled" the recoil spring on a belt sander and have had no problems in several hundred rounds since.

The german ones are forged the american ones are cast. The american ppk's don't hold up well in 380 and malfunction a lot. If you buy an american choose the 32 auto instead, hands down a better choice for function and reliability. S&W is scheduled to come out with a american made by them, that is superior in quality to the older american. I don't know if they are out yet. If they are I have not seen the S&W Walther yet but a good friend who works at S&W said that the new american Walthers will be much better all around.

The PPKs made in West Germany are the finest and the stainless American ones are junk, I've owned both and I still own the West German. It has never jammed and the quality is obvious at a glance.
