Walther P99 W/ Interarms markings???

Just picked up this P99 for $450 only has about 50 rounds through it. The gun was made in Germany in 1998. I see that the Interarms logo is no longer used since the company went out of biz or lost it's import deal, anyway are the P99's that date back to 1998 any different than the new ones.... I know i could have bought a brand new one for a little over $500.00 but this was an impulse buy . Any long term users of the P99 with Interarms markings I would like to have feed back on any problem I might
have .

Thank for the input

I've got an Interarms, VA P99 and it's been all roses from the get go. I really enjoy shooting it and hope you will, too.

Adjustable sights and practice has made me very accurate with it.
Shoots everything and hasn't choked.
9mm high (std) caps exist, but pricey.
Excellent ergonomics for my hand.
Unique DA/SA trigger.
Alessi CQC/S holster.

However, I wish Lasermax made an integral laser recoil spring for it.

The only difference in P99s (9mm only) has been the elimination of the trigger safety on the original version. You can tell the difference between the original and the current trigger by whether it is split or not. Here's a picture of the original: http://www.lenaburgs.net/images/p99Originaltrigger.jpg

The current trigger is smooth, with no break.

Other than that, no changes that I'm aware of, just the markings on the slide.

James

Didn't mention caliber. Some of the early, .40 I think, had slide locking problems. The slide would lock open before the magazine was empty. Be sure to test it good. All it takes to correct that is a new spring. There has been other discussions about the slide locking, you can do a search.

Hopefully P-99 and some of the others can be more specific.

It's a 9mm.... forget to mention...... I did some searches and some people said the 9mm could choke on 115gr... I'm going to the range on Wed. I will test it out on Win White Box 115gr using 3 rounds per mag after about 50 to 70 magazines I'll know if it needs a different spring. ...

Thanks again

I picked up my new P99(9mm) last tuesday, taken it to the range twice and put 500 rounds of my 115grain reloads through it with zero malfunctions.

Three P99's here.
Two with Interarms markings, one 9mmx19 and one .40S&W.
The other with Springfield, MA markings, 9mmx19.
All three of my P99's are German made with proper proof marks.
See my web site for pics.
All three 100%. :D :D :D
