Walther P99 Trigger Jobs

I have a question for standard Walther P99 owners? Have any of you had a trigger job on your P99's…..? I understand there are some gunsmiths offering to reduce the DA first pull from ~10# to as little as 7.5# and the SA pull as light as 4.5#. Have any of you had this done to your Walther, was it successful and what/who did the trigger job. Thanks, Helopilot.

Walther has come out with a pistol that already has the trigger job done: the QA!!

I inquired of Earl's about a conversion, but was told that it was not a good idea. The gun rags at the time were saying that you could convert the standard P99 to DA only, but Earl's would not even sell the parts to do it!! Liability concerns abound!! :(

funny, last year, earl recommended a trigger job to me when i went his shop. in fact, he did it for me...haven't been happier.

make sure that you get it done by an actual walther armourer.

I suggest my time tested "Buy three cases of ammo and shoot that trigger smooth" action job. More fun than waiting for it to come back from a gunsmith too!:D

If you're asking for my two cents, I wouldn't change a THING about the P99 trigger. Conversion from DA/SA to DAO? Interesting idea. I suppose it depends on what kind of shooting you do.

See my post " P99 Impressions "
I figure my stock DA/SA trigger on my 9mm P99 is about 5-6lbs. I have been able to get more consistent groups with my P99 than my custom C&S BHP. One you shoot (or dry snap the heck of it like I do to all my guns) the P99 trigger is very smooth and 'street proof' light in my opinion. I am not aware of any smiths who are experienced with the P99 trigger. Perhaps there are conversion parts to lighten it just like the Glock???

the trigger job that earl did for me, was to lighten the pull on both DA and SA. i wouldn't want to change it to an QA or anything like that.

the action on the DA/SA is beautiful enough as it is, why change it.
