Walther P99 Sports Trigger upgrade

In a few months the P99 will come with the trigger upgrades. It is long over due and will help in shooting the gun more accuratly. If I still had my P99 I would do it. I sold my P99 because of the trigger, now I am thinking of getting the model that already has the upgrades done from the factory. Anyways earls has good service but they are pricy.

Could you give some more details on what the "trigger upgrade" does? I bought some high-cap P99 9mm magazines before they were banned here in California, but I haven't bought a pistol yet. I am leaning toward the SW99 version because I prefer it more rounded lines, generic accessory rail, and lower price (I know that some people think only the 100% Walther is worth having, but I guess I'm not a true believer).

But, I must admit that I'm not too impressed with the triggers I've tested on either S&W or Walther versions. A smoother trigger (without changing how it works) would be a big plus. I might go Walther to get that. But then again, since Walther makes the entire lower half, the new S&Ws should have the same new trigger, right?

Please tell me more (or where to find the info). Thanks.

Doug

The only person I know of who's had it done is in Germany. Earl's crew just got back from IWA (the European SHOT show), so I'm waiting a few days until I call them. Here's their contact info:
