Gentlemen,

Has anyone used any of the hi-cap mags that are availible for the 9mm and 40 SW? Are they reliable? I'm thinking about buying a 9mm and want to buy a few of those hi-cap "post-ban...wink, wink" mags.

Works perfect. The ones from KY Imports are OEM, made by Mec-Gar.

There's nothing "wink, wink" about the P99 mags. The P99 was ready for military testing in early '94, the ban took effect 9/94. Plenty of time for MecGar to crank out a few standard-cap mags.

STI = hicap 1911 (polymer frame only?)

B Shipley has it correct. STI is the double stack polymer framed 1911 style pistol, STI calls it the 2011. I believe their address is www.sti-guns.com

Are STI mags suspiciously preban? I have always wondered about the seemingly endless supply of 30+ round Glock mags (all new).
