A friend of mine is looking at getting a P99; we understand the P990 is a DAO, the P99QA is a DAO that half cocks liek the glock...

But the standard P99; some people call it DA/SA, and yet the Walther website calls it Traditional Double Action.

Does Traditional Double Action == DA/SA, or am I missing something?

DA/SA is also known as Traditonal Double Action as well as TDA. Before then there was only single action for semiautomatics. Double action only came later, therefore DAO as opposed to the traditional double action.

PUMC,

QPQ means Quench Polish Quench.

The slide looks like stainless, but is actually steel that is quenched in Tenifer than Polished and then Quenched again. It is a regular P99 or P990 but the finish is suposed to be more durable.

The QPQ has nothing to do with the trigger or any other function of the gun.
