Walther P99 in .45acp?

The Tenn Highway Patrol has issued an order for a S&W 99 in .45.
This was done at last year. There has been no action on this yet, due to waiting for a change in the state Govenor. I know this is not a Walther just the illegitament brother. thought this was interesting info. Of course this could change at any time due to political expediency.

This is similar to what I've heard. The SW99 would come out first in a .45 and then Walther would follow later on. I'm not truely convinced that Walther will come out with a P99 .45, however they were messing around with a "1911 style" .45 during the same time they were developing the P99. It was called the "Big Bore". They shelved that project after the P99 came out. It would be interesting to see that project revived.

I also find it hard to believe that they would come out with a .45, because I don't think the .45 is that popular in Europe. If I'm wrong, please someone let me know. With that being said, I'll still buy a .45 if they come out with one. :D

Glock has a .45 that's smaller than the P99. So I don't think it would be hard to shoot because of the light weight.
