walther p99 barrel

Hello everyone! I'm planning to buy a walther P99 9mm but would like to know if the barrel of P99's are treated with tenifer inside and out. Also is the barrel fully supported?

Beats me! What I can tell you is that P99's are ammo sensitive. I got jams with S&B, but Winchester ran perfectly. I've also heard the same from others. It's a great gun. You'll be happy with it.

No the P99 barrel is not treated with tennifer nor is the Glock barrel. They are only blued. No the P99 barrel is not fully supported nor is any barrel with the built in feed ramp. The P99 chamber tolerance is a little tighter IMO than the Glock if you are worried about KB. The P99 is a great pistol in 9mm. Go for it.

S&W is now handling Walther-USA and they say the P99 barrels are Tenifer inside and out.

The Glock barrels are Tenifer inside and out BTW.

The SW99 barrels are stainless stell w a Melonite finish inside and out; 69RC, about the same as Glock.

Please direct me to some specifications that state the Glock barrel is tennifer as that one is a new one to me. Thanks.

Yes, I'm worried about kb! So far I haven't read about a P99 9mm going kb! - i just want to be sure.

Thanks for the info guys. Now I can go and buy that beautiful pistol. The price here (Philippines) is P27,200 converts approx. to US$632.50 - pretty expensive compared to the prices there huh?

BrokenArrow - At Glocktalk and Gunspot they agree with you on barrel tenifer for Glocks. I stand corrected.
