Walther P99 Barrel support???

Does the P99 Barrel support the shell in .40S&W? I saw a good deal, and now that my payoff is a few days away, I am torn between a used 1076 and a new P99 .40!

I will be reloading, and barrel support in obviously very important. I don't know if it is a Glock thing or a .40S&W thing???

I've been reloading brass out of my P99 and am up to 6 times using Starline without any issues (about 3000 rounds so far). I love my P99 and also have the CP99 pellet pistol for garage shooting. Both shoot extemely well. I'm waiting on one of the new P22's from Earl's.

I just checked my P99 in 40sw and its nearly fully supported. The exposed area of the case in the 6o'clock position is barely visable and is probably about 1/4 the size of a Glocks unsupported area. Theres a pic of a Glocks unsupported area about halfway down this link
Personally, Id feel confident shooting reloads thru my P99. If you still would like to see for yourself, just ask the dealer to remove the barrel and drop in a round.

I've been reloading for my P99 .40's for almost 3 years now and haven't had a problem. The barrel is fully supported and is a lot tighter than the GLock. I measured my friends compared to mine. You should have no problems as long as you don't do a double charge.

By the way, most of my reloads are lead bullets.

P99
