Walther P22

I saw a Walther P22 at a dealer today. Looked at it, and didn't want to put it down. Really appealing little plinker. Had a price on it of $269.00. Papers in the box said it was serviced by S&W ?
Can anyone tell me about these guns ? Are they as good as they appear ?
Thanks,

There's another thread further down. Some people don't like the trigger. Mine was gritty until the second, more thorough cleaning with gunscrubber. At 269, that should be the 5" bbl. I've seen posts where the 3.4" runs around 209, but the shorter bbl is less common, I think. You can buy the other barrel separately for 60 bucks (3.4"), and have both.

Personally, I like it, but I have an admitted long-time weakness for Walthers. Unfortunately, my wife likes it too, and could give a rip who made it.

Any idea where I can order the shorter barrel. I have only seen one so far for $200 plus. Thanks

Yep, I also just bought a P22. Ive only been to the range with it once....

If it fits you nicely then youll love it, but those grips are pretty darn small... hmmm, maybe I should switch grips; but its really just for my little brother to shoot with and he loves it.

Two problems:

1: Very picky with ammo

and

2: An absolute BITCH to reassemble the recoil spring and slide

If anyone has any advice on reassembly, I think I need it :(

Catch,
There is a plastic rod that you put between the guide rod and the spring when you reassmble it. The plastic rod keeps the spring from bending than gets pushed through by the guide rod. There should be a little green peice of paper with the P22 that shows it, but I found out by searching here for the use of the plastic rod.
