Called to check my order status this AM. Earl's has sold out of these, but another batch is expected in early February. So I have to wait. Patience is a virtue. Must be a hot seller!

I ordered one on the internet and got no response. I have emailed him a number of times and get no response. Obviously, he does not want my money so I will stop trying to give it to him.

Can't speak..

to the e-mail response, but I ordered mine on the internet also. I phoned them yesterday, and they are hanging on to the internet orders and will fill them when the next batch is in. The person I spoke with seemed to have a copy of my order at hand, but also was fairly busy taking calls.

I haven't done much business with them in the past, but it seems to me that Earls is a specialty shop (Walthers), and is the place to go for that TM. The one thing about shops like this, in my estimation, is that they can get the new stuff first, but on the high demand items, you have to wait your turn. I think the P22 has turned out to be a pretty hot number, based on the price, name, etc., and I don't think Walther or Earl was quite ready for the volume of sales and the interest in the barrel kits.

I'm just guessing, of course, and I know it's irritating to not get a response to an inquiry, whether e-mail or not. I'm also aware that making a phone call can cost some change, depending on time of day, etc. If a business has an e-mail address posted, they really should be attentive to what comes in, and respond to it as soon as possible.

In short, I'm like you. I considered the e-mail option, but passed in favor of the phone because I like to talk to people in person when I have a question about an order. That's why I posted what I found out, just in case there were others out there wondering what was up. Disregarding what you think of Earls, I hope it helped.

You are right, I should call before I talk bad about the guy. I am just over sensitive when it comes to gunsmiths and dealers. I am fed up with the attitude in the industry that the consumer is indebted to the service provider. They make their money by keeping me happy. Some of them know that we have a gun addiction and will do anything necessary to get our fix and take advantage of the situation :p
