Walther p-22

We have been selling these puppies like crazy, and they seem
to be a nice little weapon, and the price is right $261, does
anybody own one yet, or have any experience?

I've only handled one, but I like the feel. Do a search on P22 and you'll find that some others are having problems with the hammers not staying cocked and riding the slide back into battery. Has this been addressed by S&W or Walther yet?

My only complaint was that the slide action felt a little gritty. Does anyone know if this gets better?

Also, I didn't see a decocker. How does the manual recommend loading the chamber and decocking the hammer so that it can be fired in DA?

I don't think these have anything to do with S&W. AFAIK they're coming in through fred's gunsmithing / carl walther usa, not S&W.

Mine works well. I fully disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and lubed it before firing it for the first time. After degreasing and relubing it my way, there's no grittiness. Trigger pull has slowly improved. No decocker, safety is a rotating firing pin block only. Manual is very sparse, does not mention decocking that I can find anywhere. I guess just engage the safety to block the firing pin, hold the hammer back, pull trigger, lower hammer. Only way I know to do it. Accuracy is good, about like a Ruger MKII, but because the gun is so tiny, and has heavy trigger pull, it takes a lot of concentration to wring that accuracy out of it.

Bastiat: S&W is the only authorized repair facility. My new P22 came with a bright yellow announcement informing me of such. I am not very happy about it and that is for sure.

Chop: That is the exact method given in my owners manual =)

Got one for 286. 5 inch. Got an order in to Earls for the 3.4 inch barrel. Cute. Feels good. Stripped and cleaned ok. Going to the range this weekend if it warms up.
