Walther P-22

Well, I finally found a standard Walther P-22 and grabbed it, even though I paid out the ying-yang for it. I've only had time to fire 20 rounds throught it, but it looks like it's going to be a nice little pistol though.

This was one of two at the Hbg gun show, and the other one was the long-barreled version.

Anyone else had any P-22 experience, yet?

I don't get in here much lately, so it may be a while until I get back.

I've had a target model since last October. Today I just picked up a "First Edition". :D :D :D I really like this little gun. It has shot very well for me. It really likes the target grade ammo. I've had a few failure to feeds with the cheap Eagle red box stuff, but everything else has shot really well. I'm going to get rid of the target model now that I've got the "first edition"

If you don't mind me asking, could you draw a tighter circle around

I paid out the ying-yang for it
:D

Just curious. Prices seem to range from low $200's to mid $300's, depending on model, location, and 'dealer greed'.;)

By the time I got done, I have ~ $360 or so in mine. Both barrels, extra mag (3 total). (Below My avg. handgun cost, so I felt I did ok).

There is some variation in the feed lip alignment on the mags, but it hasn't affected reliability with the ammo Iv'e used, yet. (Winch 40 Gr and CCI Stinger).

I like mine. It's plenty accurate, and fun to shoot.

I have one of the 3.5 inch barrel versions and love it.
I paid $212.00 + tax, at shows around here they are trying to sell them for $400-$475 and the funny part is they are selling at that price.
I bet the purchaser will be pissed when they find out wholesale is around $190 dollars. I don't think it's a good way to get return cutomers.
I have only shot Stingers through mine, and only have fifty rounds through it but so far it's flawless, it is also pretty accurate for what it is.
:D

trapshooter, total cost with tax, etc. was $360! I hate to admit that I knowingly paid that for it, but I wanted the pistol and I can't find them anywhere around here. I've asked my dealer to get me one for the better part of a year now and they can't (or won't) come up with one. I know the retail price when these pistols were first reported to be coming here was $179! What the hell, it's only money, right??

Well, don't feel too bad. I paid 280 out the door, then coughed up 60 bucks for the 3.4" barrel, and 25 for another magazine. I had heard the 360 somewhere else, though, but tbone's reported gs deals are more than a hundred beyond us both.

I wasn't feeling so hot, as several people further west were reporting personal purchases in the 212-220 range like tbone. Now I'm just glad I didn't pay 475.

for those who have shot both 3.4" and 5" models, which one's better? is the extra $50 for 5" target model worth the expense??? Anything significant between them regarding to the recoil, feel, or accuracy of the P22?

Well, I finally got to put approx 50 rounds through it, and I have no failures of any kind so far. The little pistol seems really accurate. I was using a tin can and a plastic jug filled with water for targets. When I turned the can up and used the end as a bullseye, I chewed it up pretty good. So far, I'm really pleased. I wanted this pistol as an inexpensive to shoot practice pistol (although I'll have to shoot a heck of a lot of .22's to make it pay for itself), but the light recoil also is good to help stop flinching and to concentrate on good trigger control. I think shooting a pistol like this will make me a better shot with my nines and forty's.
