Walther LASERS ???

I have a Walther P22...PK380....and a P99

QUESTION.....

Will any of the Laser Sights from the WALTHER SOFT AIR Pistols fit on the real thing?

They look the exact same in appearance and packaging, I think it is a marketing ploy to get more money out of the Real Gun Enthusist.

A p22 Laser $129
a CP99(airsoft) laser $28

WHAT DO YOU THINK???

Corvetteman, welcome to TFL my friend.:)

First, without even looking at the actual products, but being very familiar with Walther, I would say No.

With a price spread of $101 I'm guessing that the Airsoft laser would last MAYBE one magazine. I don't think they are using the same materials or technology in the actual circut board for both models. I have my doubts about the lifespan of the Airsoft version on real firearm. I know the .22 is pretty gental, but it does abuse accessories.

quality comparison

qcpunk......thanks I would normally agree with that statement, however the reason that prompted my question is that the "authentic" Walther airguns are $150 to $200 in their own respect. So the price point doesn't seem to hold up to me. But the wear and tear or real rounds is a good point....

Do you guys have one of these? How accurate are they. I have seen them but never used one. Always felt that it was more for look thank anything else.

How they shoot...

I have:

p22 3.4" barrel.....It does look cool and is mostly for fun...but is accurate for a .22 I just came back from the range today, the groupings (10 shots) were 4" @ 5 yards
5.5" @10 yards
8 to 10 " @ 20 yards
and tons of fun.......cheeeeeeeeeeap ammo!

pk380....3.4" barrel...solid shooting gun. Great gun for a woman that has small hands and/or has not shot alot. alomost no kick for the caliber. Groupings are outstanding all the way to about 30 yards

p99 9mm 5" barrel......Great gun....007 side arm. fun, solid, and accurate.....

good purchase, definately worth the money!!!

I, too, have the P99(40s&w) and LOVE it. Fills my hand perfectly, great balance for me, and so far, the most accurate pistol I own. I have little experience with the P22 and wanted to ask you how many rounds have you feed her and how well has it held up over your ownership? I have heard a lot of things around here and elsewhere regarding the P22 and would like your input.

Additionally, I could be mistaking, but I believe Brucey was asking about the lasers speciffically, and not the firearms..... but again, I could be mistaking.

You have a good point with regards to the cost of the airsoft guns made by Walther. I have not had an opportunity to see/shoot/handle one yet, but if Walther has put any of their firearms experience into airsoft (as opposed to just branding a product) I would assume they're pretty kickbutt. I think at this point the only course of action is to take the $30 hit and give it a go. Someone's gotta "take the first shot" eventually ;)

p22 is sooooo accurate.

Now, it goes without saying that there are a ton of .22's that shoot better/farther/and more accurate. But I would put my p22 up against any .22 caliber under $450. I purchased mine new for $325. It is tons of fun to shoot, little to no misfiring. I've run about 2500 rounds(about 5 bricks) through it and it shoots as good now as it did day 1. Best $300 spent. I sold my mosquito because the p22 is better in my opinion. My eval the the p22 is using the 3.4" barrel (which I feel is very accurate) the 5" can only get better.....!!!

And your right, brucy was asking about the airsofts, I caught that after my post. To answer that question, no never handled or fired one. I would agree with Punk....if it is as nice as the real thing, those airsofts should be sick.

And sadly back to topic.....I think someone is going to have to bite the bullet and try the airsoft laser on the real thing.........and.........that someone is probably going to be me. :( dang

I paid $425 new for my Ruger Mk III Deluxe (Talo) with a 5.5" barrel and a 4" group at 20 yards isn't difficult at all. I suspect you're comparing "like for like" though, and my longer barrel would disqualify me :)

Founding Father quotes...?

I knew before I typed it.............someone......would comment about something better/faster/and more accurate anyway.... No doubt the ruger is worth the money.....

To throw quotes around... Henry Ford said it best, "You can have any color you want, as long as its black!"

Now with that being said.......Ford/Chevy........Walther/Ruger....... Doesnt really matter.........Most people are going to do what they want to do... and at the end of the day, both are still driving and shooting.....

I was merely stating the price pointed value the walther is compared to its same priced (short barreled) competitors.......SO for those who asked if A Walther is Worth it....... Sure...... Are there others out there that can do the same job........Obviously...... All you readers have to do is to decide, are you Ford or Chevy.......and for you jokesters......Dodge!

Hmmm, you know you'r ein a gun forum when a discussion about lasers turns back into a discussion about the guns them selves and not the subject of the OP. HAHA, love it. :)

Well said there Corvette. You are exactly on point there, but nothin anybody can do about it. Everybody feels the need to voice their opinion about one brand vs the next brand, as you said, chevy/ford, Walther/Ruger, honda/yamaha, etc... And I think that goes 2 fold for online interactions... But that's what makes this great! Within reasonable bounds.... By no means is this pointed at any one individual or anything like that, just a casual observation.

Dodge, Gotta love them Rugers eh? What a package. I've got a mkII and I can shoot that thing ALL DAY LONG and never get bored of it. And I'm really excited to check out the P22 for myself. I think many people tend to "forget" about shooting the .22LRs, and .17s. I really find them to be a great way to cheaply pass the time, as well as affordable fundamental training/refreshing.

Hmmm.... A quote to keep with the trend here.....In light of the recent developements, I bring to you Mr President Abraham Lincoln...
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it."

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

To be fair, you did issue a challenge. To expect it to go unmet is a bit surprising :D

+/- $125, right? :D

And I also see that the challenge has been formally qualified as to barrel length, too. That's OK . . . I realize that a shorter barrel and closer sights do impose a slight disadvantage ;)

I wasn't focused so much on claiming that the Ruger is patently superior to the Walther as pointing out that a 4" group at 15' is, well, not exactly something I'd brag about regardless of which firearm I'm using. Are you sure the gun is responsible for that? :)

And although I'm Dodge, I drive a Silverado ;)

I've only had the Ruger for a couple of months, but since I bought it I've run a LOT more ammo through it than through either of my M&Ps or my DE .44mag. And not just because it costs a fraction of the others to shoot, either :D

off topic..

Do I issue an apology.....do I just ignore????

Bad groupings......Cant Brag..... Must be The shooter or the gun.....Right?

Just joined this forum to get answers on specific questions, while adding a few realated comments here and there.

What i dont want to do is get into endless debate over something I tried to avoid in the post itself. Now either I'm in error for joining this site, or in error to assume that people will stay on topic....read the whole post....and formulate a proper response within repect to the thread.....Remember BETTER/FASTER/MORE ACCURATE(shooter OR Gun)....

It was all about a simple opinion.....apparently I am wasting my time. These black and white topics MUST have tons of gray in them........

I see where you are coming from there Corvette. It's really difficult to distinguish tone and subcontext from internet or text message content. I'm not entirely sure that Dodge was trying to pounce at your post at all. A lot of us here at TFL have a bit of a competitive side (dont all shooters? :p) and sometimes it may be misread. The way Dodge has used the emoticons in that message leads me to believe it is just playful banter. Yes the thread did get off topic, but I think it was mostly you and I who steered the conversation that way.

Please, don't be discouraged about TFL. There is a plethora of info to be had around here. And, there are plenty of "less competitive" and "more competitive" shooters around here. Cheers fellas his round's on me, whatta ya say...

Corvetteman,

Qcpunk pretty much hit the nail on the head.

But here's a bit of friendly, practical advice for survival on the interwebs: If you want to post commentary or opinions without fear of someone responding, a discussion forum is probably not the best place.

Peace, and I hope you continue to have years and years of fun with your Walther :D

I just dont want anyone to get worked up over nothing. Not that Corvette got worked up or anything, as I also didnt take his statements to be too negative. Just tryin to keep things nice and peaceful, I guess there's still a little hippie left in the gene-pool lol.
