Walther CCP

6mm

I picked up a used one a few weeks ago, it's a good shooter. No problems with feeding or extraction.

Just a question for those that own them. I notice debris and gases thru the trigger area while shooting, and of course my trigger finger is black when done. Any one else have the same thing? I had a H&K P7 years go with a gas system and don't remember this much debris and gases thru the trigger with that one.

I have a CCP and my gun gets dirty but not through the trigger or on my finger. Give Walther a call they will tell you if it's a problem or not. if so they will fix the gun. These guns are made in a section of the Umarex plant but they are built by Walther plant employee's in a separate area of that plant. You need to call Walther not Umarex.

Sounds like the gasses are escaping from around the recoil plunger. I have seen, on other forums, where people had some minor complaints about the CCP, but I have not read anything on that problem your having.

The gun shoots very well. In 40 plus years of shooting only two guns have ever caused me to bleed. Both Walthers. A PPK that the slide ripped my hand open (too high a grip) and this CCP, trigger finger black and bleeding from gases from the pistol.

As alluded to earlier, the CCP is made by Umarex, not Walther.

There is a big difference in quality between the two manufacturers.

There sure is; seems to me, since they both have the Walther name on them though...it kinda puts the smear job on those REAL Walthers though.

Indeed. Unfortunately Umarex owns Walther and slaps that name on a number of their inferior products these days.

The pistols actually made by the Walther factory in Ulm (P99, PPQ, PPS, etc.) are still very high quality firearms.

Received a call from Walther service department and they have scraped my CCP. They sent out a new one this afternoon to replace it.

Did they give any explanation what was wrong, or just, "Hey its trashed, sending you a new one."? Glad they're taking care of you either way.

I did ask for a service report, the customer service department, didn't have one. They just received a report stating the pistol would be replaced.

Received the new CCP yesterday. The one I sent in was in the 16,xxx range, the new one is in the 66,xxx range. Will take to shoot on Monday.

Fired 150rds thru today. First magazine had two failed to extract fully. Otherwise shot just fine, no problems. Tried 115gr, and 147grs and it actually had less felt recoil with the 147's.

Happy with Walther's customer service, and happy with the CCP. Once I get thru my break in and find what load it likes, it will go into my carry rotation.
