Never fired the standard, but I love the trigger on my QA. It has a very short take up and a light crisp snap. I think it is better than the trigger pull on my Glocks. They have a longer take up and kind of a mushy snap. If you are used to striker fired pistols like the Glocks or Kahrs, or single auction pistols get the QA. IF you are used to traditional DA/SA then get the regular P99. It really is a matter of personal taste and what you are used to.
