Walmart 100 box 38 special

Just curious if anyone has tried the Winchester 38 specials from Walmart. 100 round box for less then $17.00. Can't remember the grain but I think they were 138. I am fairly new to guns, but I think that this is a great deal especially just for target shooting. I also have been buying their 550 rounds of Federal .22s for less then $9.00. So I usually buy a box of each and have plenty of shooting fun. Anyone have any thoughts? What does everyone else typically buy to do some shooting?

Winchester...

I have used the cheap Winchester "white box" ammo in my Bersa .380 and it generally works OK. It is not a high dollar round and will occassionally jam. In .38, since I presume this is a revolver, it should not be a problem. They generally are a good target ammo. There are places onlinie where the same ammo can be gotten for cheaper than at WalMart. But then, WalMart is easily accessible.

I use the 130gn wwb 38spl quite a bit, and found it to be a very good practice round, very easy on the hand, and very accurate. :)

BUY IT UP!!! It's 130 grain FMJ if i recall correctly. Been a couple weeks since i've shot, but i go through one or two boxes of this everytime i go. I just got my revolver recently and am still working up to being accurate with .357 (i have a gp 100 also), but with the wallie world 'specials i'm hitting skeet from 25-50 yards (notice: skeet are on the ground and not in the air.... I'd be a champ if i was busting flying skeet with the .38 special at 50 yards).

I usually shoot full power .357s when I bring out the sixgun... after all... that's the fun on having it. :D

However, I use 100 packs of WWB in both 9mm and .40 regularly for practice. Good stuff! Never had a problem with it.

I've used the 550 boxes of Federal .22s as well. I haven't been quite as impressed with them, and I've been thinking of trying a different brand the next time I go.

I have a Rossi 462 2 in. It has been an excellent choice for me.
The "white box" fmj is the most accurate round I have found so far.

I run into bad lots of 9mm value packs every now and then but the .38 special and .45acp Winchester value packs have ben flawless.

I wish the 357 was that price! I will get a box of 357 now and then but it is twice as much. Although right now I have a 50 round box of Fianchi FMJ I can't wait to use. It was only $13.00 at local gun shop. Love those 357s just not the price tag.

I've shot about 5 boxes of the stuff, in both my cheapy RG-38 & Ruger .357 Vaquero. Pretty good range ammo at a reasonable price.

:)
