Walker, Texas Ranger.

On a lighter note ... Does anyone watch "Walker, Texas Ranger" on CBS on Saturday nights? If so, has anyone noticed that for the past few years the character played by Chuck Norris carried a full-size, stainless steel Beretta Semi-Automatic Pistol on his right hip. Then at the beginning of this season, he switched to carrying a S&W pistol on his left hip in a cross draw fashion. Now, for the past couple of weeks, he's back to Beretta again on his right hip.

Anyone else notice or know why.

FUD are you sure you aren't catching some old reruns? Because if I remember correctly he carried the Smith when the series first started, then later to the Beretta. :)

While on a trip through the woods, i forget why, Walker was shot at from a helicopter and the revolver that he had been carrying on his left hip was the only injury. When removed from the holster the gun fell apart, and left Walker without a gun against the bad guys who were all carrying full auto. later in this episode Walker was given a a gift a nickle plated Beretta in a right side slide holster. I remember al this, but i can't remember what that particular show was about.

With all of the hand-to-hand that Walker does, he had better be carrying it in a strong side, butt-to-the-rear fashion; unless he wants to be looking down the wrong end on some episode.

Of course, I'm sure that he would prevail anyway. The good guys should always win!

I'm not sure why he even carries. With all those side-swiping, back-handing, upper-cutting, round-house, chicken kicking things that he does, nobody escapes the wrath of Walker, Texas Ranger. Don't these bad guys ever watch his show? If they did they would know it is futile to resist. Just give up whenever he shows up. They always have one big fight scene that looks like an old Batman episode, only without all the "biffs" and "zoks" and "pows". My wife watches that Walker, Texas Ranger. I'll never understand why.

I know why she does. It's because he's always kickin ass $ drivin fast; plus, he's a good guy who always wins!

First Walker carried a S&W629, Then a Beretta 92fs (Stainless) and it seemed a Taurus 92(Stainless or Nickel?) interchangeably. This last season he has been carrying a S&W 945(S/A auto from the performance center). I don't know what's up with him carrying the Beretta in the last couple episodes. Maybe they had a problem with the 945 and he had to use the Beretta for a few episodes.......

That show seems a little too PC to me sometimes. I was watching it this morning on USA. It was the one where he and his woman find a crashed plane from an old case of his. I think the episode was called "swan song" after the name of the plane. I found it amusing how normally he never seems to run out of ammo yet in this episode I think only 6 shots were fired from his sidearm (by his woman) before it ran out of ammo. I'd be interested in knowing what he carries. You'd think it would be high capacity!

My favorite Walker tactic is to be surrounded by camo covered loonies when he is without a gun. He then jumps from the loft of the barn
and kicks the dude.

Of course, he could pick up the full auto
AR or AK and the ammo but he doesn't. He just
stalks the next dude.

I have seen the show a couple of times and I live in the DWF area. I always wondered where the Fort Worth Police were while he was kicking ass and arriving on scene where vehicles were exploding, full auto weapons were being fired. I saw him at the Anatole Hotel in Dallas a while back. He's kind of a short guy, a short guy that can kick you in the face.
That Taurus might be a Texas Ranger Commemorative model.

Walker is good escapist entertainment, but hardly a showcase for good police procedure or even sound tactics, just kung foo choriography (sp?) with Chuck as the centerpiece. There's always a moral, the good guys always win, it's hokey as hell, but I still watch. Help me - are there any good Westerns (modern or otherwise) on TV anymore???

I always wanted to know where to get that crossdraw holster he wore in the first seasons, anyone know? I thought he carried a 686 in it. Actually met Chuck one time, he was polite and had a nice attitude towards the help(me). Terrible actor, but I wouldn't want him to hear me say that, that old man is still bad. Run from the OF's :) :)

Wonder why he never calls for backup when he gets info that someone is going to be hurt/killed/kidnapped/etc in the next county. Instead he drives like a madman with only flashing side lights. He gets there just after the crime happens "some realism" Of course he tracks them down and kicks XYZ but if he had called for a local unit the crime could have been prevented. He also never has to do paperwork/testify.

Yea, and that Dodge Ram sounds like it has a Hemi under the hood. He beats it up and never gets a scratch! Kinda reminds me of the General Lee! Still, I really like Chuck, he may not be the best actor, but he's a good guy in real life!

I've only watched Walker about three times. I'm amazed at how everybody always runs around with their fingers on the trigger. The last time I watched they discussed at length the 50mm BMG casing they found. No, not .50 caliber, 50mm. I decided it wasn't worth watching after that :(.

I have never seen the show but a friend of mine said it looked like his sidekick carried a Walther P5.
