this will stir things up,a taylor & co. conversion cylinder in a colt walker and 2-1/2" .410 shotshells in the cylinders for a helluva a manstopper plus other loads are available once you go the shotshell type.the cylinder is 3" for those of you wondering and should be able to withstand the loads.

please reply

yes, you could do that. OR, you could just load the cap and ball cylinder like a shotgun instead, for the same result.

didn't think of that, thanks for killin my buzz, just jokin your right though

Conversion cylinders aren't bored straight through anyway, they're chambered.
Do they still make 2 1/2 " .410's?

Um, Just looked at the Taylors sight & I see where they offer the .45 Colt chambering but not something spacific for the .410 chambering although you can load a .410 into a .45 Colt chamber.

Like Deadguy stated, I'd just save my $$$ & just load the Percussion cylinder with a healthy shot load.

I know that my 60' Army & my 58' NMA's will take a load of:
15gr. FFFG Goex.
piece of cereal box for over powder wad.
15gr. #9 or #7 lead shot, this is using the same measure that the powder was measured with.
piece of cereal box for over shot wad.
compressed melt candle wax over the wad to help it stay put.

Cap & it's ready for some Snakes up to 5 yards.

With the Walker you may be able to get 25gr./25gr. or maybe close to 30gr./30gr. in those massive chambers & substitute the shot for something like #5 or #3 as well for more of an effect but just remember even if you did get the cylinder & used the .410 in them or loaded the chambers like I mentioned this will only be effective for maybe 10 yards MAX because of the effect that the rifling plays on the shot as it goes through the barrel.

I know you can load a .45 Colt into a .410 chamber. I didn't think it worked the other way around.

there interchangeable just look at the new taurus judge it's an either or revolver and yeah you can still get 2-1/2" shells.i just like stikin with the bp theme but comin up with new age mods for us to use.

Its funny I picked up a Walker a few weeks back and pondered the same thing, a 2.5" 410 shell will fit with room for the cylinder to be cut and chambered. That would be awesome if someone would make a conversion cylinder for 410/45 lc in the Walker.

Also 410 will not just fit into a 45 lc chamber nor vice-versa. Guns that are able to shoot both rounds (Taurus Judge, Thunder 5, NEF survivor) have special chambers/bores to handle both rounds. The two have the same rim, but the case dimensions are different.

there can't be but so much difference in the two otherwise you would have designated chambers in the revolvers chamber.taylors&co. makes the walker conversion cylinder,it would be nice to see if someone has actually tried this to see if it really works. anyone out there tried this? please post.
