Wal Mart

If you do any traveling by vehicle and you see a Wal Mart store in a remote location, be sure to check the sporting goods department for reloading supplies. I found two stores, one near Ft. Morgan, CO and one near Ft. Collins, CO that have primers, bullets and powder. It's not like shopping at Midway or Cabela's but you might find what you want.

I lived in southeast Colorado for several years and found shooting supplies and firearms at hardware and farm supply stores. I purchased a new pistol for a class project (Gunsmithing) at a farm/feed store, some time you find what you need in unusual places. William

You don't even have to live in a remote area to find places like that. I live within an hour of Philadelphia, and the hardware store near me sells guns, hunting and fishing supplies, and occasionally some reloading equipment.

I believe Midway has something similar to Cabela's Bargain Cave where you can find closeout and maybe return items. I've forgotten what they call it but it may be worth a search.

I know most reloaders don't live hear a Cabela's store but if you visit one, be sure to hit the Bargain Cave. This is where they re-sell return and closeout items. Normally, reloading components are not returnable but occasionally, someone will drop a box of primers or bullets on the floor then when they clean up the mess, they sometimes can't find all the items so they place them in the Cave. Recently, I found a box of Berry's plated .357, 158 grain bullets for half price. There were ten or so bullets missing.

As my mother would say, "it beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick."

Wal-Mart always bears watching for "close out" items. Got a half dozen USA made Buck pocket knives for next to nothing when they were closing out the domestic brand for the imported. Our local store does not carry reloading components, but they do have a well stocked ammo section.

Yep, just got a $199.99 10 piece stainless Calphalon cookware set for $75.00.

I often check those remote location Wal Marts, but sadly I've only found a couple Arkansas locations which carry a few reloading supplies.

I'll buy from farm stores, hardware stores, ect.
But I won't buy ANYTHING from Wally-World.

Just not interested in giving money to a giant corporation that ships the cash out of the area,
Won't cover it's employees health insurance,
Scams it's workers out of hours they work, ect.

I'm with JeepHammer. Wal-Mart also still offers way too much cheap crap from China or Mexico.

I support quality "Made in USA", jobs and middle class need to come back. I rather pay more.

JeepHammer,

I want to comment about Wal Mart. In my opinion, it was Sam Walton's American dream come true, just like the Cabela brothers and the man who founded Bass Pro. They all started as ma & pa stores. I believe the man who started Bass Pro sold discounted fishing items in the corner of his father's liquor store. What is your American dream?

I'll bet many of the pieces/parts in your American made car were made outside this country.

In any business, most of the money expended is for labor, which is the reason you see companies laying off people before other cuts when they need to cut costs and this is the reason most of the money Wal Mart makes in any community stays there.

Wal Mart does offer health insurance for all full time employees and for some part timers.

I support small businesses when I can because that's where the majority of jobs are in this country but there are times when I can't find what I want from small businesses so I must go to a large business.

No, I don't work for Wal Mart.

I can order a lot cheaper and better online.

1.) All the variety to choose from.

2.) No state sales tax when ordered out of state.

3.) I can shop around for the best deal without having to move my 7000 lbs truck one inch.

4.) Shipping is many times free, or at least cheaper than 9 MPG on the truck.

5.) Most things I buy are not available in small or large retail stores. I do not buy average or cheap a** crap.

My best friends? Santa FedEx, Claus UPS and the USPS reindeers. Here it's Christmas every day. :)
