Waffen-Frankonia rifle

I recently inherited a beautiful rifle of which I know nothing about. It has a mauser action, beautiful wood stock, Sako style. The only markings are on the left side of the receiver---WAFFEN-FRANKONIA. It has a serial number and the marking cal. 6mm Rem. The gun appears to be unfired.

I would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Waffen Frankonia is a German distributor that buys and sells guns from all sorts of manufacturers (something like Charles Daly; if they think they can turn a profit on buying a gun from manufacturer "X", then turning around and selling that gun for "X" plus 5%, they'll do it). It's likely that there are more marks on this rifle (at the very least, some proof marks that will show you when it was built), and possibly a manufacturer's code on the metal under the wood. You may be able to get some more info on the rifle direct from them at https://export.frankonia.de/scripts/kontakt/kontakt.php Their email is also listed there.
