Vz24 stock hardware removal question...

How does one remove the unusual bolts that are on the stock? No one here in Columbia seems to have anything that will fit the two small holes.

Sources? Recommendations?

TIA!

How bad do you want to get those screws out...?

I say this tongue in cheek, but if you don't give a crap about the stock or screws, grab a pair of vice grips and have at it!

This was how I disassembled my rifle, but then again, I was sporterizing, so I didn't really care too much about what happened to the items I was taking off.

If you have a cheap screwdriver and a grinder, you could fashion a spanner for those screws. This deal would work fine on any screws which aren't in there really tight. If they are stuck in there though, you'll have problems.

You could try wrapping some tape around the screw to try not to mar the surface if you do opt for the pliers, you'll just have to give it a shot.

Let us know how you fare.

Well. so far, snap ring pliers will not work.. I'm sure Brownells has something that will work, not sute I want to spend the bucks.

Gizmo, you can make a good tool for these from a screwdriver as Unk mentioned or you can also take a piece of flat steel and grind/file your spanner either in one end or in the middle to give you a little more torque. There are tools available for this from Brownells but they are very simple to make. George

i was able to remove my screws using a set of 5 inch needle nose pliers. The tips were small enough to fit in the holes plus gave me the gripping power to turn them off.
