VPC and "Pocket Rockets"

On it's web site //www.vpc.org the Violence Policy Center has replaced the photographic image of HK's Mk23 pistol with that of the cover of a recent gun magazine containing an article on "Pocket Rockets" and picturing a Glock. That image serves as a link to their newly released report on "Pocket Rockets" (see MissD's post on this in the General Discussion Forum) which includes photos of Kahrs and Kel-Tecs.

Similar antics were brought to the attention of the legal departments at Beretta (for the HCL site's photo) and HK with great effect. Your calls and mailings are needed once more.

I don't know how, but something has to be done about this "Pocket Rocket" spin the anti's are jumping all over.

I do not see this as a good thing, I mean that it has legislation written all over it and passable legislation at that.

Damm, I own a couple of these things and the anti's are trying to make them out to be the "Dreaded Saturday Night Specials" of old!

Write your news papers Letter To The Editor, your congressional representives, your mother, and anyone else you can think of. Don't let THEM have this one!

BTW, comming "of age" in the 60's a "Pocket Rocket" was somthing you had for your date.........

These morons are the ones that brought about the development of these 'pocket rockets' when they limited mag capacity to 10 rds. Get ready for that term to become part of the antis lexicon. They will stop at nothing short of single shot bb guns for private ownership. Whether you join GOA, or NRA, join something, and VOTE!

Actually I believe it was Gaston Glock who usd the term to describe the smaller versions of the Glock. He should have known better.

Legislation to ban easily concealed firearms has very little chance of passing. With 31 states having Shall Issue CCW laws, and 43 having at least some CCW law on the books, a law that would ban the most effectively concealed firearms is unlikely to get enough support to make it to the President's desk.
