Vortex Viper

I've been looking at a lot of reviews of the Vortex Viper PST scopes,
they seem like quite a good scope for the money.
But all the reviews and comments I've found are all a year or two old.

Does anyone have a VV PST? Does it meet the expectations you had when you brought it?
How does it compare to the likes of Bushnells and Nikons?

Thanks,
Sam

I don't have the PST, but the Viper is my best scope for the $$.
I know there's a lot of guys on Sniper's Hide that have them, and have given them glowing reviews; you might try doing a search or posting over there.

Hey wraglefragle!! try to find an internet clip of "Todd's Tundra Test". This fella in St.Croiux, Wis. has a test he puts scopes through,,, when he's done you'll be a believer on those Vortex scopes buddy... Try to find it.;)

I am a Vortex fan and the PST is tremendous scope. Unless they don't have what I am looking for they are my first choice now...for the money especially.

I've got two Viper 2-7's hunting scopes and think they were great buys for the money. Not quite on par with the VX3 Leupolds but right there with the VXII IMO. I haven't tried the PST, right now I'm using a Weaver 3-10 GS Tactical scope from Midway USA. I'll probably skip right over the PST and go with the Razor, MK4 FFP or NF scope when I'm ready to upgrade my long range rifle.

I've got a PST 6-24x50 FFP mil/mil. It has been excellent so far. I'll be shooting it at 1000 yards tomorrow for the first time, so we shall see just how well it performs. The small fiber optic piece on the turret came loose sometime in the last few days. I emailed Vortex yesterday night and they got back with me this morning. They are going to ship out a new piece asap. Much of the reason I bought the scope is because of the excellent customer service.

All I have is hearsay. I've heard as much good about them as I have bad. I think it comes to personal preference, price and how much you like the looks and feel of the product. I wouldn't mind giving one a spin but haven't had the urge to scratch the itch over the standby's I'm accustomed to.

snipecatcher

snipecatcher, im looking forward to hearing back from your day at the range!

Does the glass on these scopes compare to similar Nikons and Bushnells?
I quite like the look of the old 4200 elite tactical, but I don't like the reticle, well I prefer the Viper PST reticle, the mildots and cross hairs just look too big

I have the 6-24 Ffp mil/mil and I think it's great. I love the Ffp and all the features. Seems durable to be, but I don't really throw my rifle around so can't comment on that.
