Volquartsen Target Sear

I'm thinking about getting a Volquartsen Target Sear on Ebay for my Ruger 77/22 (LR). Only problem - it doesn't come with the spring. Is the spring absolutely necessary?

One other question - how hard is the installation? Could a reasonably intelligent 16 year old do it?

Thanks!

Not a problem

Use your original spring for it. You should be alright if you use a slave pin to put the disconnector and trigger back to gether.

Just buy the target trigger kit, it comes with the spring and the polished guide pin and all the instructions. You need em all to make a real difference and yes anyone with a bit of sense and patience can do it fine.:)

Sorry about that

I didn't notice you have the Model 77/22. I would still use the original spring myself and sand it down if you need to. Most of the time the VQ springs are a bit too light for my tastes. I am not sure about the instruction sheet, but I would think one would come with the sear. If not, you might try going to this site and ask someone there about the 77/22:
