I understand that a protracted firefight will permit the other side to call in support and things will get very deadly, very fast. I also understand there will be many days without engagements if for no other reason that day after day fighting would exhaust personnel, supplies and equipment.
As to scenarios, danged if I can predict 'em. But the overall scenario is modern-day equivalent of an American Revolution and/or Civil War. Look at the problem from the viewpoint of a supply officer. How much ammo would ten guys need for two years? This is given they have to rely on themselves, but I also understand that opportunities may arise to obtain weapons and ammunition from raids.
