Virginians, the smearing of George Allen has begun...

George Allen was governor of Virginia a few years back. Very good gov. Among other things, he signed the law making Virginia a "shall issue" state.

He's running against one of the most liberal POS Senators now on the books, Chuck Robb (son-in-law of Lyndon Johnson). As of the gubernatorial elections last year, Robb is the LAST high-level Democrat left politically alive in the Old Dominion.

Handgun Control, Inc., weighed into the frey this evening with one of the most disgusting commercials I've ever seen.

It BLTANTLY implies that the CCW law that George Allen signed permits CHILDREN to carry guns!

I'm CERTAIN that HCI will be funding Robb heavily to try to maintain one of their staunchest allies.

Virginians, we have a GREAT opportunity to rid ourselves, and our country, of one of the WORST enemies a gunowner could ever have.

If you haven't done so, register to vote!

Get involved with the Allen election!

Support him with campaign contributions!

And NEVER, EVER, allow garbage like this to go unanswered!

Talk about BS! Then again what does HCI ever talk about.

This is Chuck "I only got
a massage" Rob?

What a piece of dirt.

I don't think the senator can survive a
good gubentorial fight. He is way too dirty
and oddly naive about it.

I mean, certainly dirt bags get elected to
office all the time, but they also have to have some courage. The dirtier, the more
cojones it takes. Chucky is only dirt.

I, too, have noted the anti-Allen, anti-firearms TV ads that have become common in Northern Virginia this week. I'd offer a few points:
a) I'll bet the Robb forces are not using them throughout Virginia, just in the DC suburbs.
b) I hope Allen uses this in the debates to trap Robb for hypocrisy; I have faith most Virginians will support Allen's firearm initiatives.
c) Factually, the Robb ads are "a crock".

George Allen ranks as one of Virginia's best Governors. The liberals loathe him. I have not seen these comercials here in the Tidewater region. They must be targeted to NoVa.

I caught this ad this evening for the first time. Though I don't agree with a lot of George's stuff, you can't argue with the result he produced. HCI performs unnatural acts on dead donkeys for beer money. What a blatant load of horse manure. More green stupid juice, please. M2

I hope that Allen can be trusted with his views on gun rights.I, for one, had this man as my employer while he was "gover" of Va.
Sorry to say that I do not know of any one that is going to support him in a federal election. My vote will go "third party" should there be a candidate.

I saw the commecial last night and had to restrain my wife from throwing the remote at the TV. (I have an excitable wife and the remote is brand new.) I was floored with the content and inuendo contained in that short 60 seconds. HCI is trash, was always trash and will always be trash.

I noticed something else about the ad! It is "Politically Correct" in that it shows a kid in a wheelchair...

Could it be an attempt to lead the viewer to the conclusion that the kid was shot and is now wheelchair bound?

My local senator, Leslie Byrne-in-hell-for-all-I-care, hasn't weighed in yet, but when she does I expect it to be really ugly.

corv - You're right about Allen. I don't know of a state employee from his era who trusts ex-Gov. Allen. He has a firm handshake and a friendly smile, but his ability to manage has been seriously questioned by many former supporters. OTOH, there's Chuck "I-was-naked-but-MissBeautyPagentWinner-only-gave-me-a-massage-and-I-didn't-see-any-coke-at-any-of-those-Va.Beach-parties" Robb. I believe the popular consensus was that he was either lying or stupid or both. John

A very significant amount of Robb's political warchest is coming from the elitist left just across the river in Maryland.

PC + HCI + $$ = subjugation of the Dominion, again? Let's pray not!!
