"Virginian" 44 Magnum Dragoon

Anyone know where I can purchase or have made stag grips for my Virginian 44 Mag. revolver? I've had this revolver, my favorite smoke stick hunting back-up, forever and want to dress it up, finally. It's older, I know, but still I can't seem to find any grip makers that have even heard of it, never mind make custom or whatever grips for it!

I had the opportunity to purchase a Virginian .44mag Dragoon in its original wood presentation box for only $300. I passed on the opportunity because after some research I found out that parts and accessories for this revolver were nearly non-existent. If something breaks you need to either find another revolver to cannibalize or contact a machine shop that can create a part for you.

In the case of you wanting stag grips for your revolver I'd contact a custom manufacturer of grips and commission some.

I've heard pretty good things about this guy:

and of course she's been posted on this board before:

Good luck.

I traded off 2 VD's in the past, as I couldn't get stag grips, or any replacement grips for that matter. Great, rugged guns though!

I carry one around the house when working in the yard or on my tractor. Lots of snakes and bears in my neck of the woods. Mine is accurate and reliable.

I found it at a pawn/gun shop 3 yrs. ago. It and then 3 other Dragoons showed up all at once. I got this one and have been happy. Nearly bought a nickle version of one of the specimens but passed as someone had buggered the screw for removing the cylinder, otherwise it was a nice piece.

You might give this place a shot for gripes, down near the bottom of the page they list the dragoon.
