The loading lever drop down issue is easily solved with a short, thin
leather strap wrapped around the barrel when shooting. This is what
I use with my Colt Walker. When not in use the leather strap is
tied in a loose fashion thru the trigger guard. Actually, the strap
looks pretty cool on the Walker.
Thanks again, Mike! While I've handled a Walker once or twice, I never noticed some of the details that you point out in the video (curved grip to frame matchup, bolt locking detents on the cylinder, etc.). As I've said before, I truly love seeing the progression of designs as Mr. Colt "figured it out," one step at a time.
Great video. Going back to loading lever -I was told that it dropped into chamber after firing and cost lives since it couldn't be cocked when plunger was in chamber of cylinder. Is that true? I have a 3rd colt walker that I never fired. I have never fired one. But almost did.

Well, anyone want my unfired 3rd colt Walker w/ powder flask? (150th anniversary model) No box though. It came in a generic box that can go w/it too. I bought it thinking
that the box was a colt and also bought a 60 Army in the deal. I paid too much. I sold the Army for $400.00. And was glad to get it. The walker is pretty. Only cocked several times in the store to make sure it and springs are good. They are. Email bhardy360@aol.com for pics
