One thing I found with loading BP is that you can dispense with the case sizing and extend the life of your brass by quite a bit. The older tong tools did no case sizing, and the later tools only came out with a sizing die due to the advent of smokeless powder and the need to have enough mouth tension to hold the bullet from dropping into the case. No sizing also helps reduce the force needed for seating the very soft bullets used for BP loads, reducing deformation.
