VIDEO: How Fast Can You Shoot a Shotgun?

In the words of that wise man, Rick Bobby, "I want to go fast!"

When you feel the need, the need for speed, how fast can you get rounds through a shotgun? Well, in the case of the Benelli M4, pretty darn fast, as this video demonstrates.

Yes, yes, speed is fine, accuracy is final, but sometimes you just have to cut loose a bit and let the lead fly.

What shotgun are you able to shoot most quickly?

VIDEO LINK HERE.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know I was not wearing eye pro, shame on me. Totally forgot to put them on. Bad, very bad.

Now that is very impressive. Scary fast!

Ever seen Patrick Flanigan shoot (Mossy 930), but he's a professional. The guy in the clip you posted, pretty scary.

lol, Cool vid, thanks for posting.

:)

That's me in the clip. I think I look scariest first thing in the morning.

Keep in mind Kevin is shooting a very heavily modified/custom shotgun with a custom trigger group. I'm just shooting the Benelli with the trigger group it comes with.

The video is not to demonstrate how fast *I* am, but how fast the M4 can cycle. I'm sure others could do it even faster.

I just happen to have a very itchy trigger finger and only know one way to scratch it.

Inerta System a copy of JMB M11/A5 Long recoil?

The Inerta system adverts comes across like a modified version of the JMB Long Recoil. Is it?

Thanks,

salty

Paul, thanks for posting this. A coupla things....

First, next time, how about going after multiple targets showing how it (and you) handle traverse firing.

Second, your form could use some work. Lean into it more to lessen muzzle rise and raise your firing hand elbow to about 45 degrees to make the "cup" open a bit. That form you're showing can't be comfortable.

Finally, fit needs some adjustment, IMO. Try a slip on pad over the standard one to lengthen LOP and increase drop a bit and see if that's better for you.

HTH...

It looks like you answered your own question.
Pretty danged fast.
Geeze, if you ever do a video and don't get a criticism, the sun will forget to rise in the morning.
It's like hanging around an old ladies quilting bee or something.
Keep 'em coming, please.
I enjoy every one - without complaint.
Besides, angling the arm up with a pistol grip is kind of hard on the wrist.
I like to just stand more square to the targets to reduce the recoil effect.
But to each their own.

My Beretta AL391 shoots fast enough that I can miss the clay bird three times before it crashes back to planet earth :o:D

That's very fast shooting ---- BUT can you shoot like Tom Knapp, fast shooting and breaking all the clay's too.

Otherwise your just wasting shells!

The only thing you shot at was the backstop.

That is if you were shooting at one, with all the plastic barrels around you it looked more like a junk yard!!!

Still a waste of shells, not showing what you were shooting at!!!

My goodness, somebody took a big grumpy pill!

Those barrels are there for the various IDPA and police/law enforcement shooting requirements that our club provides. Our club is used by all local, state and federal law enforcement and other agencies (FBI, etc.) in the greater St. Louis metro region for training, practicing, drilling, etc.

I was shooting in the large combat pit where there are lots of barrels.

Perhaps you should reconsider offering comments if you feel a need to be uncivil. It just kind of makes you look bad.

No, I think it is stupid to just blow off shells the way you did!

If you were shooting at clays thrown and at least try to break them, then thats different.

Once during a black bear attack on me, I used a Ithaca Model 37 DeerSlayer Pump shotgun with slugs and #00Buck mix to stop the bear. First shot 15 feet away - last shot 3 feet away, and I remember re-adjusting lantern in my left hand between 2nd and 3rd shot so I could see better, this was 11 o'clock at night in an unlit barn. My friend said it was the fastest 5 shots he ever heard.
The Ithaca allows trigger to be held back during pumping, firing as block goes into battery. This is on older models.

I know it is fun to just blast but...;)

the bird wouldn't just be dead it would be nothing left, if you hunt bird like that, guess it could be good for pest control if you are just shooting at a big flock of birds

and i will not pretend to know about HD but would you really unload on just one guy? no idea if there are more out there?

Geez, same old firing line, guy posts a clip on how fast the gun shoots, guys gotta pick it apart. Now why dont you all put up a vid of yer own so we can criticize it?

Fast action. might have to get me one of those.

I remember years ago watching Rob Leatham shoot a shotgun stage - very fast - and didn't realize until he came off the line that he was using a pump. He was so fast you couldn't see him rack the slide. Practice boys and girls. As for the OP, you gotta understand that he is from St Louis. I can say that because I am from St Louis. We're all crazy.
