Brown County will be recognizing Stacy's accomplishment in helping stop a gunman and saving lives and honoring him for his efforts.

Sheriff's officials will present Stacy with a Certificate of Valor, an award the sheriff's office created for Stacy, Sheriff Bobby Grubbs said.

"It's one we created for his situation," Grubbs said. "I just feel like we needed to honor him for what he did. He really went above and beyond what was expected of anybody."
