If you are referring to the rattle can: DON'T DO IT.
I've seen tons of DIY jobs on auto parts people have done with that stuff and it looks like hell. It does not look like chrome, most people in the auto repair biz refer to it as 'mexi-chrome' (no offense intended, just what it's commonly called). Plus, I realize you gun is never (should never) get as hot as parts in an engine bay, but it doesn't stand up to heat as well as is says.
