Happy Veterans Day

"It is the soldier, not the reporter,
"Who has given us freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet,
"Who has given us freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
"Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier,
"Who salutes the flag,
"Who serves beneath the flag,
"And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
"Who allows the protester to burn the flag."
-- Father Denis Edward O'Brien, U.S. Marine Corps

Leadfoot, thanks. I'm glad you posted this. I heard it a couple of hours ago and was just trying to write it down from memory, without much luck for the exact words.

These words are very moving and very, very true.

Thanks Veterans for your honorable service to our country. I greatly appreciate the sacrifices that you have made and the freedoms that have been preserved by said service. If it were not for honorable soldiers who served in both hot and cold wars, we may be under a British, German, Japanese, or Soviet flag today. Thank you for doing your part.

Robert
