I loaned my car to a friend for a few days. He returned it and now car windows don't work- won't roll down, just don't work. They were working fine before I loaned it to him. I asked him if he did anything to it. He told me he used WD40 on the doors key hole. I am thinking maybe that caused some mechanism to jam. what can I do besides taking it to mechanic? thanks

Check the fuse's under the hood, dash, end of dash, glove box, under glove box. Also check the wires from the man-side door (driver-side) to the hinge
post, often times the wires break here from the hinging action.

Yep. WD did nothing. Mind you, there are sensors in the doors, but they're not going to be bothered by WD. WD is used to fix 'em on occasion.
Checking a fuse won't fix a window that isn't power either. The East side of Lake Michigan in under a big pile of snow is it not? Cold and ice will stop windows moving. Be worse if they were down.
