quote:
When I first saw this message, I thought it was a scare tactic with a fake
bill number. However, I researched it and found that it is real. When I contacted
my senators' offices, I was told they are being inundated with phone calls. So I
am passing the info on...

Gun owners beware!

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2000 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun.
This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.
The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage. www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number. (SB-2099)[/quote]

The very idea that such a law could be legally passed with an addendum that it can't be made public knowledge until 30 days after it's already law just goes to show that every Congresscritter should be hung, drawn, and quartered....not to kill 'em, but just to get their attention in order to inform 'em that now we're really gonna eff you up and put a hurtin' on your arses!

The strongest, most profane, vile, dispicable, unspeakable language I can think of doesn't even come close to expressing a billionth part of one measly percent of the contempt I have for these....these.....ARGH!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully, the bill has had no commentary since February. I don't think it has even been raised or discussed in committee. I suspect it is a vanity bill for the home voters. That way, on the stump, Mr. Reed can claim he led the fight for handgun registration in the Senate.

Anyone want to claim Mr. Reed?

I hope they do pass it.... cause that will be the day I stop filing my 1040. Even if we only got 10% of the 80 million gun owners to quit filing their returns. 8 million taxpayers would distroy the government overnight. It would shut them down due to lack of funds.

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.
