Vermont Judge ups sex offender's sentence

A step in the right direction. I agree that it still isn't enough, but 'tis much better than the previous miscarriage.

Anyone have an idea of the amount of time you can be imprisoned if you cheat on your taxes? I'll bet it's more than 3-10...

You have to wonder what Vermont as a whole is thinking. Let's see, if I'm a child rapist and I am moving, I can choose to go to Florida and get a mandatory 25 years if caught or go to Vermont and hope to get a sympathetic judge to give me 60 days(or 3 years at worst).
Vermont, you are inviting the lowest forms of life to move there:barf:

I wouldn't blame Vermont as a whole. They were obviously pretty outraged about what the judge did seeing as how they changed the state laws just so he could be resentenced.

Ok - just to make sure I have this straight.

The guy was tried, convicted and sentenced,,,,,then they went back and for no other reason than public opinion,,,,added time to the sentence?!?!?!
Or worse yet, they changed the laws and sentenced him under the new law?
(What the hell happened to ex-post facto or is the whole constitution dead now???)

And this is a good thing how?

A jury in Texas just sentenced a man convicted of child rape to 396 years in prison. Thank goodness I do not live in Vermont.

We in Texas are not totally without compassion. He will be eligible for parole in 126 years.

One of the countless reasons I miss Texas terribly, and we kept our House there.

Work has taken us to out here, but we'll go back one day :D
