VEPR II owners, need some info

I'm been considering purchasing a Romanian SAR (1 or 2) but recently came across the VEPR II. Can anyone who owns a vepr II help me out on this?

1. There are mounts for slings, correct? The pic on their website looks like it has sling mounts, but they look miniscule

2. Does anyone have a 16.5" Bbl version? Is it as accurate as the 20" bbl version?

3. It's about 3lbs heavier than the SAR series. Is the weight bearable?

4. How much did it set you back?

Bastiat:

1. The mounts are there and are strong, no problem so far.
2. From what I have heard accuracy is not an issue.
3. Weighs nine pounds but I'm big so I don't care, not a big deal.
4. About $510 plus tax.

I would spend the extra money, you will not be disappointed. The finish is ten times better than an SAR, it is more accurate and you won't have to worry about sight & piston alignment and crappy furniture etc. It has a much heavier receiver and is twice the firearm IMHO. Regards, Barn

I've got a .308 version on the way, which I plan on getting converted to FAL magazines (I know a guy). Imagine that, a 20-round, .308 AK! Hehe...

I'll give a detailed report when it arrives in a few weeks (they're on backorder).
