Venting my spleen -- my rifle club URL rejected

I recently found a new website -- Perth Network Navigator (an exclusively WA-based search engine) and submitted the URL of my Club (Perth Field Rifle Club) for inclusion. This was the reply I received:

Cc: craig@infobahn.com.au
From: craig@infobahn.com.au
Subject: Perth Field Rifle Club:Your URL Submission Result
X-Mailer: PHP-1.99

Your submission to the Perth Network Navigator has not been processed for the following reasons
http://www.infobahn.com.au/Search/pnn.phtml
The URL you have entered is not considered suitable for inclusion in the Perth Network Navigator. A possible reason could be that the site is hosted under a private account (eg www.isp.com.au/~username) or the site doesn't have original content promoting WA (thus a site of links to other site do not qualify).

Best Regards
Craig Hoskin

=============================================
Note:

1. The site URL is www.angelfire.com/wa/pfrc (not a "private" account)

2. It is exclusively WA content (apart from a handful of overseas links)

The following is my reply to Mr Hoskin (I hope I was restrained, considering my feelings):

Craig

Thank you for the courtesy of a reply.

I admit I'm surprised at your exclusion. The site is exclusively Western Australian (Perth) content and no different in content from other similar sites you host links to.

May I suggest that if you have links to Subiaco Smallbore Rifle Club, SSAA (WA) and Storm Paintball (incidentally, not a legal sport in WA), then my site qualifies for inclusion.

Given that, I accept your decision with good grace, but WILL make sure that other shooting sports associations and related groups in WA are aware of your decision and the reasons for it.

Regards

Bruce XXXXXX
President
Perth Field Rifle Club Inc.

OK -- I feel much better now :)

Bruce, you need to put some "fawning" idolistic claptap about Mr. Johnny Howard on it...
We all know the Aus. Govt. would then approve your Site ! ;)
They seem to have their sticky little fingers in almost everything we do these days.... :(

Hey Bruce, with all due respect, you guys have got to get this under control!

I've known several australians in my life, and they were all the biggest pains in the butt I've ever met, absolutely charming and some of my best friends, but they cut me no slack whatsoever.

What's happened? Hollywood Liberals? Who are we going to look up to if the Aussies loose their courage and become a nation of wankers??

Best regards,
Roon

Mr. Hoskin seems to have given some rather technical reasons for not accepting the URL; he didn't give the reason for rejection as some anti-gun philosophy they have. I would suggest a reply to him with a request to elaborate. I would call it (based on the information I have) a misunderstanding.

You're partly right, mate.

Mr Hoskin replied and tells me the first response was "almost" [sic] automated!!!???

He says it's not the site per se, but the fact that sites "like yours" which use free providers invariably fall over in a few weeks and mean he has to "prune' his database.

He says he has no idea of the content of my site, nor the others I mention. This despite the fact the three sites I mentioned all had the same URL format, which he says is verboten:
www.someISP.com.au/~thesite

Anyway, I don't give a .......... damn.

Had my say, got it out of my system, I can live with it. (But he's still gonna get a lot fewer entries from MY club members than he would expect!)

Hate to break it to you, but you're on Angelfire. That's a private account. Any free hosting provider is considered an unofficial "problem" source.
