Vektor Recall

Yesterday I recieved an official recall notice from Vektor, regarding their CP1, one of which currently gathers dust in the bottom of my safe. They enclosed a form to fill out and return, which I did. The address given was in Loma Linda, CA, and had an answering machine with a very South African sounding message. (Amuse yourself, if you wish, by calling 909-796-3598) If anyone knows any more about the ongoing Vektor sage, please let me know. Gary

Hi Gary,

I actually called South Africa when the recall was first put out. Left a message and they returned my call within minutes.

I have been in e-mail contact with them twice this year. Both times they responded within a day or two. At first they were going to repair the defect, but now they are planning on doing a complete buyback. they seem to have been responsive , just knd of slowing getting it going.

I like my Vektor. It's been 100% reliable after the first 100 rounds, very ergonomic and inherently very accurate, despite the trigger pull.
I was considering keeping it (I've actually put a few hundred rounds through it since the recall), but I think I'll let them buy it back and use the money to get a new H&K P-7.

Not that I own one, but out of sheer curiousity... what are the specific reasons for the recall?
Does anyone know?
