Vegas range ammo pics

The last few times I've been going to my local range, they have had ton's of ammo, including 45acp, .40cal, 9mm, .357, and .38spls. Even a few rations of .380, but I have a feeling they hide that stuff, because they said they only had two box's.

For the fun of it I asked them if they would sell me a box of .380, they said we only sell ammo to gun renters, at least in the range area, not in the retail store. But they winked at me and told me they'de sell me a box. I said "No I don't own a .380, I was just curious", he said you could resell it for more (wink wink)

1st 45acp
2nd 40cal
3rd Fiocchi 9mm
4th 9mm
5th the back counter.with all kinds of caliber's.

But no 44mags

Come on man! The name of the range is in the name of every single image. American Shooters are DIRTBAGS. If you're not LE, they look at you like scum. They are among the least liked dealers in the Las Vegas area.

I'm not LE and I have been respected everytime I used to go there. Maybe because I'd buy most of their Ranger SXTs in .45 and 9mm whenever I was there. Perhaps they though of me as LEO? Doubt it. But if you get the right employees, they're a good place. But this was 3 years ago, things might have changed.

Elvishead:

I figure A.S. is your regular spot, and that they give you a certain 'consideration', based on previous posts. Are you saying that they're hoarding ammo, or simply that you're among the 'chosen' few to be offered what should be merchandise available to the public? Or that they're encouraging you to profiteer? (Please take no offense from the questions.)

I've noticed other ranges selling ammo only for 'range use' or 'rental use'. I'm just curious if the ranges are getting ample supply of ammunition, but choking it off (there have been accusations circulating of range employees 'covering' all the Wally's in town), to increase sales in other areas, or to profiteer themselves. Not that it ain't legal to do it, but I also wanna know if the ranges I've been to don't consider me 'special' enough, .... ;) Then I'll respond accordingly.

Thanks for the input, in any event.

That makes perfect sense to me. A shooting range would go out of business if people can't shoot for lack of ammo. I'd do the same thing if I were them.

fair enough, John.

I understand the situation where ammo distribution is generally low (where shops will prioritize sales for 'range users' and 'renters'), and theretofore, during times of relative plentiful supply (such as before August 2008), no such restrictions would apply. But the photos don't indicate that, and neither do Elvishead's posts. And that's why I asked the question. :)

First, they have good and bad employees, it's about 50/50 (Welcome to Vegas).

As far as me asking if I could buy a box of .380s although I don't own one, the conversation was very light and not really that serious. You have to realize that in the past, I have hooked these emplyee's up with personal SD ammo they could not get at the time, and I sold it to them at my olden days costs.

I doubt they are hoarding, this is a good sized range/gunstore (Store is separate and closes at 6pm) and they have for the most part been buying ton's of cases. I have a feeling this was a back order from way before the ammo shortage. They normally only sell you ammo for range use, but I not 100% sure of there policies, but they do have a retail store too, with ammo for sale.

Yeah, I didn't like them at first, but those people are long gone, and they have a pretty respectful staff, at least Tuesday night when I go there. And even if they were condescending, I don't care, I have earplugs and earmuffs, so I can just ignore there rude comments.

And for $8 (Now $10) 9am to 9pm unlimited range time. Leave, come back all day long. I can handle it. And, I can bring my own anything (targets, food, water) but steel ammo,

PS: I didn't get picture of there 200+ cases of 90g 9mm fragible.
