I think that Gilmore has a much better chance at winning the Senate seat being vacated by John Warner than the newspaper article cited by the VCDL indicates.

Gilmore should run the same race he ran for the Governership, stress lower taxes, point out Mark Warner's halt to the phaseout of the car tax, etc.
