Vast manufacturer conspiracy against Blueduck??

As some may have noted, I've been thinking about a adding a double action or DAO auto to my meager collection of Glocks and S/W revolvers, here's the manufacturing status of every single one I've become interested in enough to check into:

S/W 4506-Only make them for special orders (Blueduck's not special ??)

S/W's other 45's- We put TSW on the slide and screwed some really silly looking rails on them just so you would not buy one.

Sig 228- Filling government orders. Don't bother us Blueduck go buy a 229.

Sig 225- Limited imports, maybe you can have one maybe you can't

S/W 10mm's- We stopped making them years ago just in case you ever started wanting one.

Beretta 96 Centurion- Maybe we'll make some later... maybe we won't.

My quest is actually turning into a bit of a Monty Python routine. I know I can get any of the models above used or find one thats just been sitting on the shelf. My concern is that if I ever have a serious problem with the pistol I'll be out of luck for several months waiting for the factory to do something about it. I've heard of Beretta actually making customers wait for a replacement gun till they got around to making a new run of that particular model (nearly a year).

Are the above bad guns? Do I have weird taste? or is it as I suspect a global conspiracy perpetuated by the Masons/CIA in conjunction with Microsoft to finally achieve global domination somehow by making one Missouri gun enthusiast feel unappreciated?

Where is Ala Dan and his suggestion for the sig220, I just fondled one in SS that was beautifoo.....
there is an excellent sw mod 39 near me lnib $459

Is Blue Duck related to Bob Dole?

Same party, but less erectile dysfunction and Britney Spears commercials ;)

Thanks for the suggestions but I'm really looking for why it seems that every gun I like is being discontinued or offered on a limited run basis. Bad taste, more new models, too conservitive in that I really think a gun needs prove itself for ten years or so before I really give it a second thought...?

DAO

Although they are no longer made you can probably find a NIB AMT DAO in 45, 40 or 357 SIG. They are ugly and come with a terrible trigger. However, with a little love you can make a silk purse from a sow's ear. They are quite rugged and my 38 Super has about 11000 rounds htrough it and is a great gun. With effort the trugger is less than 7 pounds and is very smooth. Pretty it isn't, but quite functional.

The BDM had the ability to switch between DAO and DA/SA. But it's an oddity too.

Para's LDA comes to mind, but it may not seem proven to you yet.

Food for thought.

Hey Fess, here I come to Blue Duck's rescue-

Say what? A Smith & Wesson model 39 in LNIB condition
for $459? Too bad, as I'm fresh out of spondolus right now.:(
You know me, I'm a riverboat gambler; I would if I could.:D

But, there is also nothing like a Sig P220. Aw! the feel, the
touch, the smoothness of a fine crafted _______ (fill in the
blank). I was gonna say a Sig P220; but those S&W model
39-2's sure are sweet.:) :D Blue Duck needs to buy both;
a Sig P220, and the S&W 39 that Fess has found.

Best Wishes,

Now that you're on to them, it's only going to get worse. (I heard Beretta isn't going to allow any 96 Centurion's into Missouri for another two years!):p :D

blueduck you haven't made a offering lately to the gun gods !!! thats what your problem is , a burn't powder offering of 2400 is what you need to do . :D
