will ruger's vaquero stand up to a moderate amount of factory full magnum loads as well as their super blackhawks do, internals and all ? im looking for 1st hand experiences here only please. thanks
I think either gun is plenty strong. Strong enough for a FULL diet of factory magnum loads.
I have a 44 Blackhawk that I bought back in the late eighties that has probably digested 5 or 6 thousand rounds of full power factory magnum ammo, and a couple hundred rounds or so, of hot handloads. No signs of any problems.
Well my dad has a super hot rebated crimp 300 grain load for his hunter model that I refuse to fire in my Vaquero. Why? He was literally unscrewing the barrel shooting the stuff. He finally wised up and backed the load off a bit.
It's possible to blow up any gun handloading, even the mighty Rugers.
Still, with factory ammo, your .44 was built to be a .44. Shoot it.
